Philips Lumileds:著力系統(tǒng)解決方案 優(yōu)化LED照明

摘要: 被喻為極為關(guān)鍵的2014年,國(guó)際廠商競(jìng)相發(fā)力中國(guó)市場(chǎng)。作為四大LED廠商之一的飛利浦Lumileds近期頻頻推出新品,并且其與汽車照明事業(yè)部擬將從飛利浦集團(tuán)中拆分出來,這究竟出于何種原因以及接下來在中國(guó)有什么樣的戰(zhàn)略?

  將在中國(guó)繼續(xù)投入更多資源

  中國(guó)既是全球最大的照明產(chǎn)品制造基地,同時(shí)也是全球最大的照明產(chǎn)品消費(fèi)市場(chǎng)之一,談及Lumileds在中國(guó)市場(chǎng)的計(jì)劃,Emmanuel 表示,中國(guó)是一個(gè)龐大而且極為重要的市場(chǎng),所以將繼續(xù)投入大量的營(yíng)銷,技術(shù)支持和其他配套資源,目前,我們已在上海建立了除美國(guó)硅谷,荷蘭埃因霍溫以外的全球第三個(gè)CPAT (客戶項(xiàng)目和應(yīng)用支援中心),這令到可以直接跟客戶溝通,大大縮短了客戶服務(wù)的相應(yīng)時(shí)間。同時(shí),Lumileds 也將在IP (知識(shí)產(chǎn)權(quán))方面 繼續(xù)大量的投入,研發(fā)創(chuàng)新型產(chǎn)品,專門為中國(guó)廠商提供更富競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的解決方案。

  謝文峰補(bǔ)充道,Lumiles會(huì)提供密切的市場(chǎng)支持和技術(shù)支持。目前落戶在上海的CPAT (客戶項(xiàng)目和應(yīng)用支援中心),已配備各類技術(shù)專家20余人。售后支持方面,我們將在上海實(shí)施早期FA(失效分析)在地化計(jì)劃。

  在十年之前,很難想象LED會(huì)有如今這樣龐大的需求,那么在未來的十年,LED的發(fā)展機(jī)會(huì)在哪?Emmanuel 表示,5到6年之后,可以預(yù)計(jì)60?70%的照明解決方案將基于LED,當(dāng)然,這也取決于屆時(shí)LED所達(dá)到的光效、光品質(zhì)以及成本;另外,大家都在談?wù)摰幕ヂ?lián)照明,也將會(huì)出現(xiàn)在很多地方;我們還可以看到各種新穎的LED燈。LED可以做成任何形式的燈,可以在任何地方發(fā)光發(fā)亮,甚至在看不見的地方。未來實(shí)現(xiàn)只見光,不見燈的理想是完全可能的。

  Ray 則談到了另外一種可能,他表示,下一代照明,很可能可以充分演繹自然光,就像太陽光一樣,從清晨到夜晚隨著時(shí)間的變化而變化。

  【以下為采訪實(shí)錄】

  Reporter:Could you share with us about the latest product and technology development in Philips Lumileds? How are these new products different from others on the market?

  Emmanuel: In the past, Lumileds only provide one product, but for a couple of years, Lumileds already created a number of products for our customers, with high power products, improved epitaxy and phosphor for our customers, LUXEON TX for example, it is the illumination grade LEDs designed to deliver high efficacy with high flux density to enable directional and high-lumen applications, with “Freedom from Binning” and extreme performance. It is the best high power products in the industry.

  We also have mid-power products, which started two years ago; it is very good for linear application, uniform application, and tube lamps.

  And then we also use it into CoB. CoB is very easy to design for customers, and we have put it family product available, on CoB, small lumen, high lumen, depending on what customer wants to do.

  We are going to provide special products for the commercial application like “CrispWhite,” CrispWhiteis a product which has been made the color very vivid, it is going to be white, and make the commodities shinning.

  And another one is LUXEON M. This product would be very good for application like MR16, or street light. We are setting this product in high quality, and we saw even more designs.

  Also we have put the product with LUXEON TX into industry; we are making a lot of designs with this product. With high efficacy, we also have LUXEON Q, which is based on the new die architecture, so this one is very important for five side emitter, it would be very directional.

  Here we also have the LUXEON Rebel portfolio, with the unique color, and PC line is very high efficacy, many different colors are available, and would continue to increase the number of colors.

  Alvin: LUXEON TX is upgrade from LUXEON T. Its efficacy is the highest in the industry now.

  Sean:Nowadays, our portfolio become more and more complete. All the products are designed for optimized the lighting solution

  Kaci:That means Lumileds is based on the customer’s need when developing products?

  Emmanuel:That is exactly my point,so we are spending a lot of money in researching the roadmap. And all these money that we are spending in making products, we just want to suitable for these applications for customers. We are investing IP, in Chips, in packages,in product making lines, in material, in phosphor, also in die architecture, through that, we can provide varied kind of solution for our customers, so we can sale RA to customer or we can sale mid-power to customers. Depending on what our customer wants. We just want our customer get the best value from our products.

  Ray:Basically, the portfolio has been expanded, because lighting is a very fragmentation market. We are looking at how to best optimize LED for the application. Now people are looking at the detail of the system, optimizing the system materials and having in LED that can optimize for that, that is why we have to do so many products.

  Reporter:As we know, higher quality and lower price is becoming more and more important for the end user market, as a LED chip and package provider, how does Philips Lumileds deal with it?

  Emmanuel: When Lumileds invested in technology, we also invested in cost reduction, when we do roadmap development; we make sure we have serving our customers with low system cost.

  The cost of the LED by itself, doesn’t mean too much, what is important is the cost effective solution, for example, you need 40 LEDs to make your street light, and you only need 30 LEDs of LUXEON TX to make it, then the total cost would be much less, because you save the number of the LED, and you also save the PCB cost, the lenses cost, the metal cost, you save a lot of cost, so the total solution cost is more important than only one LED cost.

  Now we can see here are two boards, this is LUXEON TX, which looks exactly the same as LUXEON T, but when we turn on, we can see the differences. Now we are talking about the LED cost, if we need to make a same light with 10000 lumens for example, you may need a certain number of LEDs, but if you have brighter LEDs, then you may need less LEDs, that for you save the cost of LEDs, you also save the cost of PCB, the cost of lenses, and the cost of the material. The cost of LED doesn’t mean a lot. What is more important is the cost of the solution.

  Otherwise, this makes lights, and that also makes lights, this is less expensive than that, but from application, although, may be this is the best product for A19 bulbs, it is depending on the application of our customers solution.

  And there is another thing that when the customer work with Lumileds LUXEON T, for example, and after six months, we move to the higher efficacy LUXEON TX, this products, is fully combined with LUXEON T product, same but higher efficacy, and then the customer can replace LUXEON T with LUXEON TX. That means if you need to upgrade the LED, you don’t need to change PCB, and you don’t need to change anything, you don’t hereby need to change the system, it means the cost reduction is our work. This is very important for customers to bring value to them, so we can help them save cost.

  Ray:if it requires 30% more LEDs, that means, this part is 30% higher than the other LEDs, but here it not only require the LED cost, but also require the system material cost.

  Alvin: Over all speaking, low down the system cost is our direction in striving

  Sean: To have cooperation with Lumileds, while the product upgrading, it is already considering how to allow customers to control costs to a minimum, just go directly to the new product to make a replacement, which does not need to change the system, it will not increase the cost for a new product.

  Reporter:It is very good that consider about the customers to make sure the products maintaining the same direction and high performance. But you know, different maker have different interface, from the industry development point, how Lumileds think about standardizing the interface in the future?

  Chock: in my mind, it is still too early to the development side of LED to consolidate the interface, there is too much innovation. But we have recognized that it is a need we may also launch a LUXEON Q, which is 3535, compatible with others products for people.

  Alvin: Now the biggest challenge to LED is lack of standardization. Since the innovation of products and technologies are very fast, in the next couple of years, we do not think we can see such kind of integration.

  Sean:The Situations are not same as mid-power and high-power, mid-power technology is relatively conventional and mature, so the mid-power has formed a number of standardized specifications, but high-power technology, are constantly evolving. At present, our primary strategy, not with the others to do the same, but by improving the performance of our products, to our advantage to play out, forming a difference, followed by gradually lead to become an industry standard.

  Reporter:How do you think that connected lighting is leading opportunities to LED businesses? What is the plan of Philips Lumileds in connected lighting?

  Emmanuel: we belong to Philips, who making connected solutions, and we are belong to the division of connected lighting, providing solutions for hue of Philips by making LEDs, we have put LED with the phosphor to reach the green yellow. We develop hue nick solution like LIME, and the efficacy of this LED is 192lm/w, it was used for the hue bulbs. Hue is responsible for the connected lighting, and thanks to behind efficacy of LIME, we are able to achieve 6 million colors with only hue LEDS, because if without lime LEDS, then we need a lot of rings of LED.

  Reporter:Do Philips Lumileds have any plan to develop specify products used for connected lighting?

  Emmanuel: Philips Lighting has four pillar strategies: Lead the technological revolution, Win in the consumer market, Drive innovation in professional lighting system and services and accelerate. Philips Lumileds is belonging to the portion of "Technological revolution". The connected lighting is belonged to "System and service" portion, and of course, we also provide relevant technical support on it. For example, many of connecting lighting with dimming and color changing function in the future, which will have a certain requirements on size, system design etc. These areas may need us to support technically (include phosphors, packaging, chips etc.) On the other hand, the control, driver, communication technology will be responsible by other Philips Lighting dedicated team to implement.

  Reporter:As we know, Philips Lumileds is a well know brand in LED industry, what are the core competences of Philips Lumileds compare with Cree, Osram or other brands?

  Emmanuel:Philip Lumileds don’t do fixtures, light bulbs and so on,,Philips stay the components level.

  Now, One of the key information, We are investing a lot on the epitaxy, we have epitaxy which is the best in the LED industry today, also, we develop phosphor, we make unique phosphor and take it in LED, and we bring it like lime for example, and this is our own IP and own knowledge to do that.

  Alvin:We will not compete with any of our customers.

  Reporter:How do you think about the China market?

  Emmanuel:we present all over the world, and China is a very big and important market, so we invest in sales people and technical people, we have set a lot of distribution network in China.

  It is important for the consumer market, there are a lot of light bulb makers in China, and therefore, we have sent them a lot of LEDs for the consumer market. But it is also important for the retail market; we invest a lot of IP into solution on the board, and this is the solution we are going to put in the market, be able to be a very competitive, very good solution for Chinese manufactures.

  So Chinese market is very important, this is the reason why we present the CrispWhite technology in China and we locate the C-PAT in China, we can talk to our customers and give them solutions directly, we also have demo available for our customer.

  Alvin: In additional, we also have close market support, technology support, we have the C-PAT in shanghai, more than 20 people. Not only people, even the after sales support, we have the FA plan going to be set in Shanghai.

  Reporter:Could you share with us the future plan of Philips Lumileds in China?

  Emmanuel:China is particularly important for us, and we are going to develop in street light, in interior area, and when we develop solution, we put a lot of IP targeting the solutions, to go to the market with Chinese manufactures.

  We have our own distribution network, this was opened two years ago in China, and we plan to open more distribution and will do that as we need. Our business will bound, because we are gaining marketing chances in China, and we are developing great solutions. So we want to convince all the consensus marketing people in China.

  Reporter:In your opinion, where would be the chances for LED development in the next decade? And how do Philips Lumileds prepare for it?

  Emmanuel:We can see 5 years, 6 years, we expect that 60~70% market will be converted, and the conversion of LED market will take place. It depending on the quality and efficacy of LED achieved.

  Second, we are talking about the connected lighting, so connected lighting will happen every where, and Philips is making the solution of connected lighting, this is a very activity interesting solution for connected lighting.

  And then, we should look at the new form light, LED almost everything, it could light every where, could be other forms of lighting. We could see many factories are working on wall lighting.

  Chock: And the next one could be more about day light, similar to the day light of the time. Warm light in the morning and poor light in the evening for example. So that is the next generation of form factors can occur.
